Takeshi Furumoto, WWII Japanese Incarceration Survivor, Speaks at CHAH

Takeshi Furumoto visited CHAH today and told his remarkable story. Tak was born in a Japanese Incarceration camp during WWII but his spent the following few years living in Hiroshima and saw first hand the after effects of the Atomic Bomb.

Tak never lost his faith in America and returned stateside and fought for the US in the Vietnam War.

Tak spoke to the 9th grade students and told the danger of Atomic weapons and how they must be the generation to stop war! War is expensive...peace is free! Thanks so much Tak!

Boys' Basketball in the City Final Championship!

The CHAH Boys are in the City Finals! Sayvior Carroll's clutch play led the Phoenix to a 2 point win over perennial power Fannie Lou Hamer!

The boys face Scholars Academy on Sunday at 1pm at CCNY in Harlem. Spectators are welcome and encouraged!

"Cultural Mosaic" Book Collections

The NYC DoE sent CHAH books to use in the classroom libraries from the new “Cultural Mosaic” curriculum. Teachers can put these new books on their shelves and students can use them for independent reading.

Sandra Diaz Sets Girl's Basketball Record!

Sandra Diaz set a school record on Friday with a remarkable 56(!) points in the CHAH victory! Sandra is now averaging 33.5 points game, 2nd in the entire city. The win gives the CHAH girls their 10th victory of the year!
