CHAH Artists at the Annual CLOTH Gala

Friday we got to celebrate our students who donated their artwork to CLOTH or their annual gala for an Art Auction which helped the nonprofit organization raise money. The theme was the Harlem Renaissance. We celebrated by attending the MET to visit and see the Harlem Renaissance exhibition ( we even got to sneak in to see some Van Gogh’s) then followed by pizza and pasta at a nearby Italian Restaurant. Thank you to the students for helping their community by creating art, and donating your work for an opportunity to help inspire others, it was so nice to celebrate you by seeing more art and all eating together. Let’s do it again next year.

CHAH celebrates senior artists at the Tweed CourtHouse

Congratulations to the CHAH seniors whose art is on display at the TWEED Courthouse at Wall St for the NYC My Story DiverCITY exhibition, along with all the other NYC students. So proud of you that your art will be on display for 6 months and work published in a book. May you forever continue to take photos and capture moments. 🖼️📸📷 Art brings people together and creates community. Being a part of The Divercity Lens Program fosters this for the teachers and their students. Creating Art allows us to not only be creative, and use critical thinking and problem solving skills it also helps us learn about ourselves, others and the world. Opportunities like this allows our students to create an artistic identity through exploration, experimentation and creation.

ALS Walk 2024

On Friday 5/24, CHAH held its annual ALS walk where students and teachers walked a total of four miles spreading knowledge and collecting donations for ALS research. We were able to raise a total of $10,004 a huge accomplishment for us and a major contribution to “strike out ALS”. We were also visited by Assemblyman Al Taylor who also presented our school with a check for $100,000 from the state. Thank you to all of our amazing students and staff for their efforts not only for the ALS walk but also for their contributions to being recognized by the state and the tremendous effort that paid off.
