CHAH Students and Junior Achievement: High School Heroes

Last week CHAH Sophomores and Juniors participated in Junior Achievement: High School Heroes.  The program provides high school students the opportunity to become role models by becoming teachers for a day!

The CHAH students worked in teams of two or three and spent the day at PS 128.  They taught a series of five fun and inspiring activities to the elementary students.

CHAH students arrived early to get settled and were greeted personally by the school principal.  Throughout the day, they taught in Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd Grade classrooms.

Ailani and Marialy both said this was indeed a positive experience and look forward to doing it again next year.  “You have to be really patient,” they said.

Steven and Ronaldy engaged the kindergarteners, saying "I now understand what my teachers go through.”

Yeimi was paired off with Alberto Hernandez in a self contained classroom.  "I am now going to run andthank my teachers!” Yeimi said.
