From Harlem to the Met, CHAH Art Students are All Over NYC!
/CHAH partners with the Studio Museum of Harlem, where last week students got the opportunity to paint and draw, as well as meet local artists. Through a pilot program with the studio, students got to work with local New York City-based artist Oscar Cornejo and received a guided tour of the museum. The museum featured work by Amy Sherald, the woman who recently painted Michelle Obama’s portrait.
Later in the week, CHAH's art students went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where they saw the new exhibit of Michelangelo's work. The exhibit, entitled “Michelangelo: Divine Draftsman and Designer” is the largest collection of his works on display, ever. People came from all over the world to see this once in a lifetime show, CHAH students some of the lucky few!
