CHAH Lady Phoenix Basketball Makes Playoffs, Celebrate at Barclays Center!

IMG_0144.jpg

For the first time in CHAH history, the Girl’s Basketball Team, the CHAH Lady Phoenix, made the PSAL Playoffs! Coaches Bowen and Sullivan credit this program milestone to the hard work and dedication of the players, both on and off the court. Though they were bumped out of the playoffs in the first round, the girls had a fantastic season. They celebrated at Barclays Center, home of the New York Nets, for one final celebratory game.

Our Performing Arts students have talent to spare! Well done, CHAH performing artists!

The boys basketball team participated in the prestigious Martin Luther King Tournament at James Monroe High School this weekend. Although the boys came up short against the extremely talented and top ranked South Bronx Prep Panthers, two of our athletes were recognized at the event.

Marcel Garcia was given the Academic Award for his high GPA and achievements on the court and Jacob Ramirez was given the Sportsmanship Award for his positive attitude towards his teammates and officials throughout the day.

It is an exciting week as the boys prepare for their trip to Syracuse this Friday.
