Golf Team Visits 5 Iron Golf in Herald Square

The CHAH Co-Ed Golf Team went team to 5 Iron Golf last week and had an absolute blast! The kids really enjoyed themselves and the food (they ordered a few small plates) was solid. The GM of the Herald Sq branch, Shelby, was incredibly kind, enthusiastic, and welcoming.

Once their time on the simulator was done, she let Coach Dickhudt teach the kids how to play shuffleboard. Everything was awesome from start to finish!

Esports Team visits Pace University

Last week, our CHAH Esports Team visited Pace University and got to see how esports teams operate at the collegiate level. The students had a blast.

We met the director of esports. He spent the time talking to us about what pace offers and enjoyed watching our students play. Our kids held a friendly competition with BRHS too.

Middle School Baseball Team Wins!

CHAH MS Baseball got its first win ever last week against Harold O'Levy MS. 4-1. We are not 1-0 for the season! Eiffry Moncion struck out 8 batters in 4 innings and had 2 RBIs. Leynin Aquilles scored two runs. Dennis Riley and Stephen Batista Tejada scored 1 each. There was great fielding by the whole team, which is a major improvement from last year.

The core of the team is the same as last year and they are excited for the rest of the season, as are all of us here at CHAH! The players all signed a ball for Coach Heidke and were ecstatic!

Literacy Program Visits Chinatown

Students from our Middle School After School Literacy Program spent weeks reading about food and cultures from around the world. Last week, they took a field trip to Chinatown to experience some of the things they had read about for themselves. Students explored the neighborhood, stood in awe of the paper lanterns that they had previously learned how to make, and tried lots of new foods like soup dumplings and spring rolls. Everyone said the soup dumplings were their favorite and they were so happy they got to go on this trip.
